Born into a nomadic family in the Kham region of Tibet, Thupten’s journey with language began early, practicing reading from traditional prayer books alongside his parents, then joining a Tibetan monastery for a decade from a young age. This early foundation sparked a lifelong devotion to the language. From learning Buddhist philosophy in Sera Monastery to completing a higher education in Tibetan medicine (Sowa Rigpa), he has cultivated expertise and skills, and is passionate about preserving and sharing Tibetan language.
As a seasoned translator, interpreter, and practicing traditional doctor, teaching Tibetan has always been his truest passion. Today, he helps a global community of diaspora youth, Buddhist practitioners, and cultural/ language enthusiasts unlock the language with clarity and confidence.
“I believe the Tibetan language is a key that unlocks centuries of rich wisdom and ancient knowledge. My goal is to pass that key to you, ensuring you learn authentic, correct Tibetan that connects you deeply to its source.”
